A new year: 2015. It is only fitting to have a new piece to this puzzle we call life. Ours has never been an ordinary one - well, not by the standards of those around us. (That's another post all together.)
As I reflect on these past years, I see a lot of pieces God has been giving us. I thought something like this would never come. I knew God had a call on our lives and I was certain of what it was. But the more time that passed, the more I began to question. Not God, but myself. During that time I questioned why it was taking so long, but now that it is here I can see how He was orchestrating everything. Details that needed to be there in order for Him to do what He needs to do with us.
I feel like I could write a book about all those things, those details that I see now. Those years of prayer and talking with close friends about all this. Those years of waiting. And I dare say He isn't finished yet. What is the end of one chapter is the beginning of another and this new beginning is a prequel to what is yet to come.
"What is this new piece? "
We have been accepted with Global Outreach International as Missionary Project Coordinators in Honduras.
Sunday night at church the most popular question was "Are you taking those sweet girls and moving?" (Yeah, we always know who everybody loves most.)
Our answer: No...well, at least not yet. We never know what God has up His sleeve for us, but for now we are stateside.
"What is a Missionary Project Coordinator? What do they do?"
Pretty much just what it says: missionaries who coordinate projects. Technically we are classified as Career Missionaries with Global Outreach, but as Missionary Project Coordinators we will be based here in the states.
"What kind of projects?"
Any kind of project God leads us to.
We currently oversee the sponsorships of some young people to attend high school in Honduras. So, we pray that this will be a continued ministry for us.
We also feel like coordinating teams to go and work in Honduras is something that God has called us to specifically. We took a team from our church this past summer and had a great time pouring cement floors, finishing and repairing septic tanks, passing out clotheslines and Bibles. More importantly we saw four souls saved and the local church encouraged to keep fighting the good fight. Our mission was and will continue to be to join God in His work in Honduras - encouraging the local church there and sharing the Good News!
"What's next?"
In February we go to a week long orientation and training with Global Outreach just outside of Tupelo, Mississippi. Then we will go from there. We are excited about the things that God has already shown us and can't wait for what else He has in store.
We are so thankful for our friends and family who have listened to who knows how many of hours of us trying to work through God's plan for us throughout the years. Most of all, we are thankful for their prayers. We ask for continued prayer and support as we move forward.
